Early childhood education

Prepare to teach and care for children from birth through age eight. Learn how to support students emotionally, physically, socially and academically. You’ll study childhood development, the importance of early literacy, classroom management, how to conduct screenings, managing parent relationships and more.

Be ready to advance your career in preschools, kindergarten or first through third grade; education administration; social work and other childcare settings.

While your courses are online, the program also includes an onsite practicum so you can put your learning into practice, building your skills—and your resume.

Early elementary education

Prepare to teach and support students in grades K­–6 and develop your own unique teaching style. You’ll learn how to design attention-grabbing lessons, manage a classroom, practice effective teaching strategies and make evidence-based instructional decisions. Explore the best ways to meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds in a multicultural society. If your goal is to work with younger students, you can take electives focused on preschool through third grade.

Be ready to advance your career in private or public school teaching, academic coaching, ESL instruction, academic coordination, mentoring, childcare or other areas where a degree in education helps you make a difference.
